Joanne Wild lives at Elizabeth Town in Northern Tasmania
& is actively reviving the folk art & craft of making
latchet hook rugs with recycled carpet wool.
The artist has a backgorund in textiles, printmaking, and teaching diverse community groups. Colour is what inspires Jo & those who work with her.
Workshops are regularly facilitated in schools, online centres, and community groups.
The following materials are used in the rugs:
Hook rug mesh, hessian tape, 2&3 ply
carpet wool from Tascot carpet factory in
East Devonport, Tasmania.
